the waterfront

We went on the ferry with Rae, Bev and Lizzie to downtown Vancouver where we met my fairly distant cousins Cathy and Earl. We went on the Fly Over Canada ride - a 15 minute IMAX film showing you east to west all of Canada - it was absolutely amazing, and brilliant to see surrounded by natives!

Then we walked along the waterfront, talking and talking some more, playing happy birthday on the musical tubes, and we found a harbour front restaurant to have lunch. It was a beautiful day and we had such a great time. I think we could quite easily become ladies who lunch.

Then we left our cousins and went back on the ferry, and Bev dropped us of at Capilano Suspension Bridge, where we walked all the tree-top and cliff-edge walks as well as over the really quite unpleasantly-swinging suspension bridge.

Then Bev picked us up again (lucky, as we hadn't been able to call her or send her a message!) and we went to her's and Toni's for a lovely dinner on the terrace - more hummingbirds, bluejays and chickadees, and a hot tub, which it would have been rude not to try, especially as it seemed to come with glasses of cognac...

What another lovely, lovely day. Vancouver is brilliant, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
