Delight!

I'm still in the early days of using my new camera, and the lights in the Mount Baker Theatre are always a challenge, but despite its faults, I chose this shot for my blip today for the delight expressed by concert pianist Spencer Myer on the right and his fan on the left -- and the looker-on, just as pleased as they are!

Mr. Myer performed Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, op. 21 with elegance, ease, and emotion at today's Whatcom Symphony Orchestra concert. A wonderful addition to the concert was the projection of the artist's hands on a screen above the stage, enabling everyone in the nearly sell-out audience to watch his nimble fingers.

He was just as delightful signing his CDs at the intermission, when I took this blip, as he was at the post-concert reception, where he chatted warmly with a wide range of new fans. I'm not the only person who hopes that Spencer Myer returns to Bellingham and the Whatcom Symphony in the near future!
