Pushing Boundaries
After an uneventful day yesterday I was quite excited to have my first ever full feature to be published in a magazine. That it happens to be 220 Triathlon is very cool as I think it's the best triathlon one. Gwen Jorgensen is on the front cover too....she's awesome and my old friend Sandy even spanner's her bike! I've got loads of stuff in the national press but this is the first copy where I've pitched an idea, been given a commission, interviewed very cool people and come up with the finished article. It's great that photographer friend James got some images to accompany it too as I think he's awesome at what he does! I can always tell a James image! My next ambition is to get one of my pictures published in the British Journal of Photography....I just need to develop a unique concept and develop a style all my own.....easy peasy!
To celebrate I went to North Tea for the 2nd day in a row and spent £4.80 on a fancy coffee. The look I got from Jane when I suggested that I could get 2 cups in Starbucks for that was funny! She knew I was joking!
Then it was off to swimming for what felt like a beast of a set! Michelle in my lane commented that sometimes I'm really fast and other times very slow. Tonight was slow but I know I've made good mental progress as I'm happy to be crap at this time of year, knowing that I can find over 10% improvement when it matters. No point swimming fast in October though when my next race is likely to be 6 months away! Studying Buddhism for a few years has certainly helped on the ego front.
