Beacon Hill
After heavy overnight rain it was good to see the sun putting in an appearance. Out on a dog walk I could not resist the Autumn view from the castle across to Beacon Hill.
Originally there were two towers guarding Pickering built out of wood. Only one was replaced by stone and forms the castle in the foreground of this picture.
The two seats are popular with visitors who want to spend some time admiring the view. No time to stop and stare today as we prepare for another jaunt North of the border to Balmoral where we are orienteering on Saturday. This will be the first time an event has been held in the grounds of the castle.
