Fell & Hill Relay Championship

My first 'live' day out with the Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) today after lots of training & mock days. We were asked to provide cover for the 217 teams of 6 (yes 1302) fell runners taking part in this event - and wow did they pick a day for it - I'd thought there'd be a chance for all sorts of Blips - but with 50mph winds and cloud base down to 400m there weren't really.
I did the early shift - 8:00am to 12:00pm - and thankfully all were got was a twisted knee and a couple of ankles. It was a good crack & the organisers made a nice donation - so all in all a good deed done.
