WHAT A PARTY!!!!

Katie has had an incredibly amazing time. I am full to the brim of delight and joy at what a special time she had. We arrived at ballet and I dressed the room while she got dressed in her beautiful birthday outfit. One of the seniors did her hair. The ballet school principal did her ribbons on her first ever satin ballet shoes, and Katie beamed. Her ballet buddy put her bow in her hair & helped her with her beautiful necklace from her godmother. She felt like a prima ballerina.

As her friends started to arrive, she could not resist the bubbling instinct to twirl, wiith the most wonderful grin on her face. Her teachers had put so much thought into  making this magical for Katie. They dont do parties , but they very kindly agreed when Katie set her heart on it. All her friends embraced the "Wear your best tutu" theme, they looked adorable. They learnt and did a very sweet little ballet. They did a dance with the handmade twirly wands I'd taken for them. They danced to Frozen. They ate so much during the afternoon tea. They sat for a sing, but Katie couldnt contain herself. This photo was when her friends were sat down. She just couldnt help but carry on dancing with the smile fixed to her face. They played pass the parcel. They did the classic "Disco dances" - Superman, the Macarena, the Cha-cha slide. Then they did Katie's first conga. She was so thrilled to lead "The train". It came for time to do the cake. Katie usually gets a bit shy and anxious at this point, but grinned, blew out her candles and beamed even more that she'd done it. The final surprise of the afternoon was a visit from two "real ballerinas" - the teachers had arranged for two of the senior girls to come and perform solos for the girls. They sat spellbound as they danced beautifully. Katie loves her ballet "Family". I love how much care and affection they put into spoiling my beautiful girl for the afternoon. I put a lot of time into the details of the preparations. They put the effort into the party. And it all came together to be such and incredibly special time for Katie. She's been planning this for the best part of 10months. It didnt disappoint her in the slightest.
