Volcano
Today was the day for a trip to the Santorini volcano, known as 'New Burnt' or Nea Kamini. The last major eruption was in 1613 BC, known as the Minoan eruption, which caused devastation throughout the Eastern Mediterranean region and changed the then existing caldera to what it is today. The landscape is dramatic, with the lava from various eruptions around you and with steam escaping through a vent at the top, it is still a living landscape. The view of the surrounding islands is amazing.
