View from Edinburgh Castle

As part of my birthday present last week my husband bought a joint annual membership for us both for Historic Scotland. Today with the sun shining, blue skies and the start of our week off seemed the ideal time to make the most of it by visiting Edinburgh Castle.

We arrived just in time for the one o'clock gun getting fired although it did make me jump so I missed capturing it as my blip. It was great to wander around for a couple of hours and wasn't too busy with tourists.

Afterwards we walked down through the gardens and along to the Omni centre to grab a late lunch. It was then into St James for a quick bit of shopping before walking home.

Phew time to put my feet up now, I'm shattered!
