Waiting for the paddle guy

We packed in a ton of stuff on this trip - beaches, running, hiking at the top of Kauai's Grand Canyon, horseriding, surfing.

And yet, my memory of it all is of it being pretty slow-paced, warm, relaxed, easy.

Here we are hanging out waiting for the guys to sort out kayaks to paddle up the Waimea river. At the far end, you can do a hike up to a waterfall. R and I landed, sank up to the ankles in mud, eyed up the mosquitoes and got back into our kayaks to drift back downstream for a cold drink

J, of course, had to get out and tick it off his list. Exhausting being him.
