Mating Shags

Well I have had a fabulous day. My brother in law came and helped me get wood this morning. A nice bit stacked by as a start to next winters supply.
This afternoon a friend and I paid a brief visit to Rainie and then went and walked the wetlands. We were down there until 6 p m . The bird life was great. Swans , Canadian Geese, Coots, Mallards, Pukekos and much more. we stood for ages and watched these shags do their incredible performance of dancing then ignoring and preening etc. It was a superb performance, if only I had a longer lens. This image is well cropped but shows them off as well as I could.
We then had Chinese Takeaways and I am only just home.
