Porty People and Places

The extra hour meant an even quieter beach this morning as many took advantage of the duvet sojourn afforded them by the lazier start to the first day of British Winter Time (aka) GMT.

I was thinking, as I ran this morning, of those who miss their loved ones, especially at night, when there is an extra hour to reflect on their loss. I was also thinking of all those little people whose body clocks don't re-set, like most our digital devices these days, and wake their parents at yesterday's early hour!

These concrete barricades appear on the promenade around the hour change time of year to keep the winter storms at bay! Today's wind is a strong south-westerly and on our sheltered east coast the seas are calm. The white horses are leaping around the anchored vessels in the more exposed waters of the outer Firth. Storm warnings are in place for much of the west coast of Scotland.
