What a day!
Today we joined an already extended family on half term excursions. Our friend Paul invited Norman and George to join him, one of his sons, Neil, two of his grandsons and an American grandfather on a two museum day. Meanwhile I spent the day with his wife Pauline, her daughter in law, Stephanie, two very lively little granddaughters and an American grandmother. We girls had a gentle day, visiting a farm shop with excellent cafe for our lunch, then exploring the Henley Rowing Museum.
At the end of the day we all collected back at Neil and Steph's house where we were miraculously all fed!
Neil and Stephanie's house is very modern, very stylish, open plan with every conceivable gadget you could wish for. At the same time it is a happy, lived in family home. I loved the children's playroom, especially the words on the wall which read
Have HOPE
Be strong
Laugh LOUD and play hard
Live in the moment
Smile often
Dream BIG
REMEMBER you are loved
And NEVER give up.
What a great text to have on the children's wall.
George has decided he is glad he doesn't have sisters!
