Bristol

First thing we did in Bristol was to escape the hotel room as soon as our legs could carry us. Dodgy odours and carpet wet patches when we arrived, Premier Inn at its very best. Lenny Henry was nowhere to be seen. Instead, there was a Hoover that sucked up Ben and Jerry tubs from a massive freezer and dropped it into your hand.

Luckily Conn cycled to meet us and lead us through the city centre to the house to see Jo and Peanut, otherwise we'd be still lost in the wilderness of Bristol's endless shopping centres and big dudes with hoodies.

But what a lovely baby. So content and full of smiles. I was a wee bit nervous of holding a newborn toot again but soon chilled out and dave and I got our baby cuddle tanks filled up to the brim. Man I forgot how satisfying it is to feed a baby and get some major burp action afterwards, and to walk, cuddle, dance and sing to a wee bundle. I had to have a best auntie-off with Conn'a sister Ruth. She was lovely, so I didn't mind losing to her. And nice to see the crocheted blanket my mum had made for little Akira being used already.

Headed into Bristol with Jo, peanut and Ruth to let Conn do some prep for the school inspection and we meandered around Bristol, ate, chatted and even squeezed in an aquarium visit. Back for some pizza action then back to the stinky minky hotel room.
