Timber!

Tree Man came this morning, following on from Electric Man who put in the wiring for our downstairs shower room (to be).

The garden has lots of unmaintained , ivy based, weed ridden trees and bushes and we wanted to clear one side which included the removal of an old tree that had disappeared into the undergrowth and was encroaching on next door’s fence and garden and also creeping dangerously close to the foundations of our extension.

After lunch we went to B&Q, as we haven’t been for at least a week, and bought some paint and looked at lamps and shades. It developed into a wet and miserable day and we were glad to be back with a cup of tea and the tennis to watch.

Later, Dylan was spooked when a house somewhere behind us decided to have a very early firework party. Now I’m not against fireworks, but I do think the now common habit of spreading the 5th November celebrations over a couple of weeks is a bit excessive, and unsettling for animals.
