A visit from the tree surgeons

Today our tree surgeons came to give our garden its annual sort out: they keep our trees under control and give all the shrubs a general prune. Then they take away all the cut branches and leaves - wonderful!
I had hoped to put up an exciting shot of one of them scaling our tall ash tree but I must have been at my desk and missed it. Never mind - here is another of the team, tidying up the rowan, so that it is less likely to try and sail away next time we have a storm!

I just realised that it is a year to the day since storm St Jude nearly blew the rowan away - if you look to the right you can see last year's blip of the stormy sky!
