Dont feed the ducks

The paradise shelduck is a large goose-like duck endemic to New Zealand. It is a shelduck, a group of large goose-like birds which are part of the bird family Anatidae. The genus name Tadorna comes from Celtic roots and means "pied waterfowl"

These are Paradise ducks, people feed the duck all the time which isn't a problem until there are babies around, the sea gulls don't like to miss out, and as people feed the duck and not them thy get cranky and steal the duckling i managed to chase away 6 gulls before they grabbed any of these babies mum and dad do what the can but they get out numbered.

These are quite special as the mate for life, these two have a rather large brood 18 in fact hard to get all of them in one shot .running out of time again seem to happen a lot lately, out to dinner to night, looking forward to that i don't have to cook tea, yea.

The count down is on as we are off on Tuesday morning for a month of photography and fishing well you know what i wont be doing, i have my laptop working i have my ipad so i hope to blip every day wont that be a change.
Anyway i'll catch you all tomorrow hope you like the babies.
