Hallowed

A day of warm autumn sunshine and clear blue sky - time to be cherished. The low rays of light made all the more clear the rutted texture of the trunks on the big old sweet chestnuts in the wood and their autumnal orange leaves. My first week of work is now completed and it is time to rest and focus on getting the house a little more organised. Apparently temperatures were warm across the country today, in the south up to 23 degrees - the warmest Halloween on record. It is a significant day also because it is my niece Emily's eighth birthday (:
