May Beck

Revisited May Beck, Midge Hall and the Falling Foss waterfall. This time for a walk to take in the Hermitage, a shelter carved out of a huge boulder.

As we arrived the car park was very busy with families taking advantage of a Halloween Trail provided by Midge Hall along with providing refreshments. The area around the hall was full of children in their Halloween outfits having fun scrambling through the wood and splashing in streams.

Our walk climbed in and out of deeply incised valleys covered with largely deciduous trees. I particularly liked this picture of May Beck.
