Goth Weekend, Whitby
A walk around Whitby this evening was like being in a Gothic horror movie. Being dressed 'normally' was by and large the minority choice! It was magnificent - crinolines, silver canes , top- hats, brides of Dracula but mainly very elegant Goths of all ages as well as a large sprinkling of steampunk ( lots of goggles). The most striking sight was a mobility scooter decked out as a time machine complete with flashing lights, flame thrower and a bandolier of bullets at the back- I nearly blipped him.
The abbey was illuminated for visitors with horrific sounds emanating spookily from inside - one angle was completely pinky purple with the moon behind bit I chose this side because it showed up the Gothic arches and stonework.
Our last afternoon was spent at Robin Hood's Bay with the weather so mild it was more Springlike than Autumnal.
A ewe had jumped the fence into the garden this morning but luckily Neil was about to see to it as it was lame. he has another job as a mobile computer technician in the area as the farm would not support one family alone.
