Poppies Galore

The Californian Poppies are in full bloom along the Taylor River tracks at present. I and the dogs were out walking a little later than usual this morning. When we walk very early in the morning the poppies are still furled up after their night's sleep. They unfurl their petals as the sun comes out and strengthens.
The patch of black on the right-hand side of this image is Gypsy frolicking in the poppies.
