Waiting
for the Big Yin.
The rain came back today, heavy and wet. I was in the office at 8.30 and then we were off out, up the hill again to visit SS. The conversation outside K o' F was very positive, for me anyway. The rain had stopped which made the journey back down the hill much more pleasant.
Then interviewing for 2 new posts. By the time we'd finished I was too tired to go out for a sandwich so snaked on what we had in the office, crisps, cake and chocolates. this has been a VERY unhealthy week.
My last meeting was with a rep from the Big Lottery and surprise, surprise she turned out to be a blipper!. We could have spent all afternoon talking about that but dragged ourselves back to more businesslike things. J then left for a final meeting with the Council and I tidied up before heading West.
As I left the office I realised my glasses had not managed the handbag transfer that happened this morning. I'd paid a fortune for tickets and I won't be able to see him - the Big Yin, that is. I was so tired I wasn't even sure I'd stay awake.
Met #2 son and his friend K in the SECC where we ate, drank and chatted. K is friends with W who I interviewed this morning and now works for the Red Cross, 3 charity workers.
The Big Yin was unforgettable and worth the money. No big screens unfortunately but I did manage to see ok and anyway, he is more auditory especially now his movement is getting limited.
I wanted to blip him on stage but #2 son wouldn't let me so, an empty stage.
Then K drove us home, which was great as I got to doze in the back.
I am tired though.
