View from my bed

Busy, busy day. No meetings this morning, the boss went on his own but I had plenty to do catching up with the 'day job'. Oh and sorting out a meeting that had become wrongly programmed.

I was down at the Parliament for lunch and took the opportunity to have a quiet sandwich in the cafe before meeting Maureen Watt, who remembered me from our days in Aberdeen on opposite sides of the member/officer divide. We had a chat about what we do, what we want to do and about the inquiry her Committee is undertaking into the effects of the 2012 changes. I wish I'd blipped the Remembrance installation in the foyer, glass figures in the style of the Chinese warriors, but we left the Garden Lobby by the different exit. I may go back next week. the Garden Lobby was very busy, a FM designate, a hirpling ex-party leader, the transport minster and another MSP who I used to work with on the Council. Add to that the tv and press cameras - it was a busy place.

Back to the office to meet Ewan and then more e-mails before the Members' forum and finally the rearranged meeting with C. By this time I'm subsisiting on sandwiches and crisps.

Finished at 7 and straight to choir. I was promoted, to the second front row. it probably won't last! L is still off after her mother's death so the bus home. I took a notion to a G&T at home but could I find the T? There was a dearth in the 2 supermarkets, one Sainsbury's. Maybe the local student population had cleared the shelves. I had to drink #2 son's Fentiman's. It will be replaced.

So to bed and no blip. This is about all I could manage. Another busy day tomorrow.
