Centaurea akamantis

A little thistle-like plant, one of the most threatened plant species found exclusively in Cyprus.
We did an environmental tour of the Akamas peninsula today,  taking in some of the villages and churches, the turtle rescue centre at Laura Bay, and the Avgas Gorge where this little plant is found. Our guide/driver was very informative, so we picked up loads of information that we would never have found out on our own. The 4WD vehicle also coped with the gravel tracks much better than our hired Mazda 2 ever could have...
