No expense spared

It is my wife's birthday tomorrow, but she is going to be out all day, leaving early in the morning and not arriving back home until quite late in the evening. So she decided to open her birthday cards this evening.

My daughter felt that she ought to have a birthday cake for the occasion. This was a bit of a problem on a Sunday evening, so - at great expense (!) - we found a chocolate biscuit and a candle as a substitute.
