Ardea melanocephala (Black-headed heron)

We had quite a fierce windstorm this afternoon! Lillian and I went out to blip and about ten minutes from home, the wind started pushing and pulling! The smaller birds disappeared and the bigger ones battled to fly into the wind, it looked like they were flying backwards!

This black-headed heron hovered over our heads, almost motionless! I used the opportunity to get a few nice shots! Here are beautiful pictures of it as well!

R jnr grabbed his motorbike and rode all around the block, passing Lilly and I every few minutes! He turns 17 tomorrow, which means he can get his learner driver's license for the 250cc motorbike as well as for a motorcar!! Sóó exciting, we will make an appointment for his test as soon as possible!!

C and R snr had a school function in the form of a BBQ on the rugby field, for parents and staff to meet and socialise a bit! They are home already, it was quite enjoyable, although still somewhat uneasy, since it was the first function where the spouses were invited as well, and they are the newcomers, they don't really feel at ease yet! Not to worry, though, next time it will surely be much better already!
