'REFLECTIVE EDITOR'

This sculpture is by Douglas Allsop 2011. It is black, polished granite, 3-75 metres high and is situated outside theMicrosoft building in Station Road, Cambridge. The highly polished surface reflects the street scene and frames the view to and from the Railway Station. 'Reflective Editor' is the first major UK public art commission for this internationally established sculptor. Douglas Allsop (b 1943) has been exhibiting and teaching since the 1960's. He has said that teaching is about learning and that the latter is an essential part of his practice. I think it fits very well into this location.
