Lone Tree

A lone tree stands guard in what was once part of a cherry orchard on the west bench above my house. A killing April ice storm decimated 2/3 of this orchard in 1989. It's a volunteer...cottonwood, I think

It now has room to spread its wings and glow under the gloom with its autumn blush still intact.
