Say Hello To My Little Friend

Opened the curtains today to find this little guy just hanging out completely unafraid of me. How I wish the feeling was mutual, suddenly realising that the spider Nomi told me she was scared of last night, was in fact a Whit Tail spider. This is quite scary because the jury is out on whether or not White Tails are poisonous to humans.

Research shows no harm done to humans from bites but anecdotal evidence says that White Tails give some serious bites and scars, something our flatmate John has experienced. Official statements say that hospital treatment is required if it is a suspected White Tail bite, official statements also said there were no White Tails in Queenstown, but there were in Wananka 100km away.
