Torchello and Burano

We've had a wonderful day on Torcello today, sun this morning, so a lovely change from the mist. The mosaic in the Basilica of Santa Maria Assumption ought to be one of the wonders of the world. It's such an amazing piece of Byzantine art. A quick walk around Burano on the way back. They seem to have changed the way the ferries work since we were here last year, so Burano is the transfer hub for Torcello now. I've found it hard to chose today's image. This one was taken on Torcello (you are not supposed to take photos in the Basilica).
