The road to nowhere

This is the view north across Longdendale in the Dark Peak.

I love the names on the map in this area, Didsbury Intake, Tintwistle Knarr, Robinsons Moss and Lads Leap.

Apart from a Robin it was very quiet for birds here when I stopped, no sign the local Buzzard or the Lapwing that appeared briefly last week.

It might have been sunny but there was a bitterly cold wind, a definite hint of winter in the air.
