Picture House

Tony and I were keen to see Mr Turner, but frustrated to find that it wasn't on at our local multiplex (despite it having 12 screens). The problem was solved by discovering it is showing at the Picture House in Henley, just a short bus ride away. We had a lovely walk by the river beforehand as an added bonus. Three cheers for small cinemas that realise people still want to see intelligent, 'art house' films - the matinee showing we went to was packed. And now we're fully signed-up as members of their Silver Screen club, which entitles us as over-60s to reduced prices on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons - plus a free cup of tea/coffee and a biscuit!
