A Mistletoe Tree
One of the many rewards that Autumn brings is seeing the trees reveal their shape as the leaves fall. Also revealed are the things that have been hidden among their branches - in this case, bunches of mistletoe. Strictly speaking, of course, mistletoe is a parasite. But it also has an important ecological value and can have a positive effect on biodiversity, providing high quality food and habitat for a broad range of animals in forests and woodlands.
And the balls of mistletoe among the branches look like suitably seasonal decorations - much more attractive than the artificial kind, to my eye.
