Powder Puff!
This year we had a Powder Puff football game of juniors against seniors. The game has been being planned for months and a lot of hard work went into the preparation. We had to decide on t-shirt colors, fonts, and what we wanted the t-shirt to say. Our shirts said “Respect you Elders” on the front and on the back there was our names and ’15 because that is the year we graduate. Our shirts were sapphire blue with white and lime green lettering. Everyone wore them to school on game day. There were about twenty girls who played. We had seven coaches. These coaches were our senior football players. We had two faculty advisors who also helped us out on the field. Along with coaches and player, there were water boys, the chain gang, and people working the bake sale stand. When you put everyone together who worked on making this a success, you have basically our whole class. Before the game we all painted our faces. Everyone had handprints on their face, and eye black under their eyes. We all looked really cool! The game was pretty intense and rougher than I thought it was going to be. The juniors were leading at halftime, 6-0. After our coaches gave us a good pep talk, we came back out ready to play. We scored a touchdown in the third quarter, along with the extra point attempt. This means we were now up 7-6. We held them for the rest of the game, and even managed to score again in the last few seconds. The game was a success and it would have been what it was without everyone’s help. Go Seniors!
