Another one bites the dust

“The fabled Fulford Inn, long-appreciated for its pizza nights, roaring hearth and neighbourhood vibe, is set to meet the wrecking ball now that the Capital Regional District has issued a demolition permit for the vacant building.” Gulf Islands Driftwood, November 5 2014
The owner has until November 20 to demolish the building. It turns out that squatters have been living in the building for at least a week. Neighbours had called the RCMP and the fire department after they noticed smoke coming from this chimney for a number of days.
The squatters had cleaned up parts of the building and had a kitchen area, a living area close to the fireplace, and a sleeping area on the second floor.
If you’re interested in buying the commercial-zoned property, it’s on the market for $600,000. Prime location!

We've been without power for most of the day. The wind is still howling, so it may go off again. Thank goodness for back-up generators and head lamps!
