A happy Swede

Another " one of those day's " Started off with having to calve a cow at 7am ,in the field ,during a torrential downpour. Calve was half out and stuck at the hips but dead by that time .
Gave the cow time to recover while I phoned round to source a calf to twin on to her.
Brought her in this afternoon only to discover that only 1 teat out of 4 had milk so no point in putting a calve onto to her. Will need to be fattened up and sold.
Then had to phone back my source and say I didn't need a calf after all ! Must be Friday!
Took a walk with the dogs to check how the stubble turnips sown on 20th July were growing. Found this wee fellow who was quite pleased that the pumpkin won at Halloween.Haven't let on that the soup pot beckons.
