Living History
An ancient fortress; a floral tribute to a twentieth century war; a modern moneyed icon; and a timeless ray of sunshine.
I got out of bed very early for a Saturday to get up and see this. It was heaving with people by the time I arrived at 7.30am. This has taken everyone by surprise - no wonder, it's stunning and moving.
Went to see Aged P afterwards and we sang "Somewhere over the rainbow" and ate chocolate whilst watching the Lord Mayor's Show on TV. Then I came home.
The evening was sub-optimal. Collapsing wardrobes, missed performances, and even got a call from work due to an intruder alert which was of course nothing of the sort. Win some lose some. But overall -
Amazing day.
