Bus Challenge No 39!

Heathrow Airport!! I told you all not to get excited, unless you have an airport fetish like me!!!!

Slipstream, one of the longest permanent sculptures in Europe, measuring over 70 metres long and weighing 77 tonnes -Terminal 2, Heathrow Airport

I have also attempted to upload two other photos to my Blipfolio which show the full sculpture, hopefully you can see them here and here!

This was my favourite photo from the day but it doesn't really show you where I was, see here!

A bus into Bath then a coach up to London and Heathrow Airport. My brother was arriving from Singapore so I'd arranged to arrive a couple of hours before his flight was due to land, to give me time to enjoy a spot of people watching and have a lot of fun exploring the new airport terminals!

Had a wonderful time wandering around Terminal 5 and the new Terminal 2, the Queen's Terminal. Probably sounds bizarre to you, but for some strange reason, I just love everything about airports! I was in seventh heaven!!

What wasn't quite so wonderful, was the drive home. Heavy Friday evening traffic meant that a journey that usually takes 1 hour 30 mins, took 2 hours 45 mins! But it was worth it!!

Bus journey time = 25 mins
Coach journey time = 2 hours 15 mins
Total journey time = 2 hours 40 mins

Moan of the day! When I purchased my coach ticket to Heathrow, I had to pay £23, a set price for travelling to the airport. Unbeknown to me, the coach I took to the airport actually continued into London so there were people on the same coach as me, who were actually travelling further than me, who had paid £5 for their ticket!! If I'd known this, I could have bought a ticket to London and just got off at Heathrow, paying £5 instead of £23!! I was not a happy bunny and intend to write to the coach company about this, a complete farce and rip-off!!!
