Dhylan and Lennon - Remembrance
Dhylan and Lennon went to the Abbeydale Community Centre where the Scouts, Cubs and Beavers gathered for the short walk to Christ Church for todays' Remembrance service.
When they got there Dhylan was asked to be the flag bearer for the 45th Cub Group, a great honour which he carried off with great aplomb :-)
I attended the short ceremony at the Jet Age Museum this morning where Ken Plowman laid a wreath in front of the Hurricane.
Ken trained as a fighter pilot in Canada before coming across to the UK to offer his services in WW2.
Where his services were really needed, at the time, was in the dangerous task of Horsa Glider Pilot.
He took part in a number of glider operations during the war including 'Market Garden', a tragic failure to take the bridge at Arnhem (A Bridge Too Far film).
