Last night I watched the British Legion memorial on the television and this morning I joined the thousands watching the ceremony at the Cenotaph.

Very strange not to be part of a real ceremony though. Last year Philip went to our local memorial. I did, however, wear my poppy with pride and thought about what so many wives and mothers must have gone through during the many conflicts honoured today.

Each loss is personal. I felt very privileged to have been able to see the poppies at The Tower of London this week.
