I had to wake Katie this morning. She was quite late to bed last night for a school night but it rarely influences the morning waking times! I had to wake her as we needed to be ready a bit early. A friend of hers popped by for some school style photos before school. Katie was hilarious making her smile. Katie and I then walked to school.
After school, we scooted home, in gorgeous orange sunset. Katie loves to show me a beautiful sky she spots. We made her a snack and took her for her trial at a new gymnastics club. I realised watching the class before hers that she had been put into a much older class than her own age (several of her friends were finishing up as we arrived). I explained to the coach and he said she should just come and have a go. She learnt heaps and had a wonderful time. There were things she couldn't do but they took her to aside when those situations arose and worked one on one with her. Her coach came out to see me half way through. He said she's very welcome to stay in that class and that he thinks she will benefit a lot from having the big kids to look up to, that he's done it before putting keen younger children in with the bigger ones and it pays off. So off she will go! She did her first backwards rolls today, learnt new things on the beam, learnt different things on the vault. And did her first (very very very much) supported front somersaults on the trampette.
