Emotional Day
One of the nice things about living in a small community is that it is so supportive in such times as today, our friend's funeral, and as he had lived in the area most of his life, many people came to show respect and to support his widow and family. My daughters came with me and together with his daughters we shared many happy memories of holidays together in the pub afterwards.
Mr C, still in the Himalayas, did well - he had organised the local flower shop to deliver flowers for my birthday - a rare occurrence but much appreciated. However it is very weird that he does not know of the death of our friend yet.
Tonight a few women friends are coming over for a cocktail with me - this one is very delicious - vodka, cointreau, pineapple juice and limes, topped with cava. One is tasty, two is even more so, three would be a disaster. I'll be good!
