Dismantling 3,500 years of history
Another long day for LH. Up bright and early to brave the average speed cameras on the A9. An interesting journey. I struggle to see how this will make it safer.
Nice touch by Calmac to sound the two minutes silence on the ferry with the ships whistle.
Once in Stornoway it was a quick trip to site to dismantle the Bronze Age stone setting and see if I could work out what it was. A wee experiement showed that it does indeed hold water. There was no sign of burning when the stone was removed. Was it a simple basin?
The site will be backfilled tomorrow, but not until Ive scurried around tying up loose ends for another few hours!
RH is enjoying chilling out at home after a very busy last week.
