Canaveilles to Llar
Ten of us set off for the walk between these two high Pyrenean villages. Canaveilles is a pretty village at 930 metres. Llar only has a human population of six (far more cats and dogs!) and is at 1200 metres. The ten km walk had about 700 metres of ascent but the weather was fine and we did not rush it. It was mostly an open balcony walk so the views were spectacular for most of the day. The scale of the mountains is not always apparent but if you go large in this one, you can just make out the human figures below.
