Life through the lens...

The Poppy Line

Another beautiful day. ( we have been so lucky with the weather!)
One of our favourite places to visit is Sherringham Park.
The beech trees shone golden in the sunlight.
Climbed the 192 steps to the top of the Gazebo Tower to have a truly magnificant view over the tree tops.
We could see right along the coast as for as Wells-next-the-sea.
Photo of Gazebo see here

But my favourite photo for today was the little steam train. Which we heard whistle, and then it came into view.
A standard 4 Locomotive Group. Built at Horwich in 1957. Saved from a scrapyard in Barry, and on loan to the North Norfolk Railway.
The line from Sherringham to Holt is called the Poppy Line. ( Because of all the poppies!!) We actually saw some today in a field of sugar beet.

We have enjoyed another lovely day here in Norfolk.
Now it is Cromer crab for tea, and a nice bottle of white Alsace , Pinot Blanc, bought at Adnam's in Holt.

Of all the birds we have seen today the best was a skylark, singing as it soared up into the blue sky!

Again many thanks for your kind comments and stars for yesterday's blip.
