Bielwater Sunset

After a day of heavy and continuous rain I was driving my wife home from a dentist’s appointment in North Berwick as sunset was approaching and we saw a really strong double rainbow. We could see the edge of the rain belt and the sun at its lowest was shining almost horizontally across the land to create these marvellous rainbows in the still dark heavy cloud. By the time we reached home and I was taking the dogs for a walk, the sun had virtually disappeared but was creating a wonderful display of pink and orange in the clouds which was nicely reflected in the river and in the still wet tarmac pathway.
