Family selfie

A pretty perfect family day. B woke at 6.30 instead of before 6, J didn't wake till 7, and we celebrated with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for breakfast.
Out the door by 10 and ended up at Whitesands. Jacob adores the beach and we raced and jumped all the way. He "protected" me from the sea saying "no you stay there mummy. You have holes in your wellies. Father Christmas will bring you new ones." A chilly November picnic sat in the boot, with treats for everyone.
Visited Ali and Sue who are house sitting a friends East Lothian steading house. It was beautiful and Jacob headed straight for the garden with the dogs, running in circles and watching over the hedge for tractors. We persuaded him in with cake.
Drove home into a perfect sunset and despite a few exhausted tears they both went to bed easily. Celebrating with gin and tonic and new Ripper Street.
