The end of the road (and the beginning)

Today I reached the end of the Ruta Nacional 40, a cause for celebration. It is also the start of the RN40 for La Quiaca, on the Bolivian border in Jujuy Province, a trip scheduled for next year. I celebrated the arrival with an invitation to lunch from the Argentine Navy residents who man this lonely, windswept place.
