Teguise Alley
It was market day again today at Teguise. It’s the inland town that was once the capital of the island. The more we visit there, the more we like it. It seems to be a base for artists of every description. There’s a lot of wacky but cool looking people there selling there wears. Some of the people are actually more interesting looking than what they make but hey, it takes all sorts to make the world go round. I count myself in that too. So we found some presents for friends back home, took loads of photos, had some nice food, (crepes for Linda, Bradwurst for the meateater), listened to some pleasant music, looked round some amazing shops and went to catch the bus back. That’s when we, like others, discovered that there were no buses after 2pm! We spotted a lone taxi and made a swift exit from the bus queue to catch it. It cost us 20 euros but at least we got back safe and had the rest of the day to enjoy. As it happens, the heavens opened up shortly afterwards so we were really fortunate. Today’s photograph was taken in an alley leading to a nice little bar at the end. It was here that I spent more than 20 minutes trying to get a sneaky, candid shot of one of the aforementioned artists to no avail. Of course, as soon as I put the camera away, he did exactly what I’d been looking for!
