We went for a little drive today towards the airport, since M wanted to see where the quick charging station near the airport for electric cars is that her company is providing free of charge to owners of electric vehicles here in Iceland. Once she knows the exact location, she can put it on the map for other people to see (putting things on the map is sort of her work!)

We saw lots of interesting things I had not seen before, and one of them was a bridge over the divide between the American and Eurasian plates. Apparently every 100 years the gap widens by 2 metres. I am glad we are not living near the plate, would hate to wake up one morning and find there is now a big chasm between the bedroom door and the bathroom door! It would seem that people are copying the Parisian tradition of attaching locks to the bridge...The Eurasian side is on the left, and the American one on the right.
