Bird watching

It never stops amazing me how, when they start school, kids can go from not being able to read or write at all and can do both within a couple of months. It really is quite incredible how fast they can 'get' it. Today's blip is a record of that progress.
A lazy around the house kind of day included a coffee/snack break bird count as I'd just filled the bird feeders. It is so exciting that D was able to do his own list (and fabricate the number of birds he saw). Initially C's list was a better reflection of the actual number of birds that hang about in the trees waiting for me to fill the feeders but the competitive instinct made his as made up as his brothers!
